Includes one each #53-45404, 45424, 45444 and 45464. Use with The Puller (#53-454) and The Puller II (#53-554), both sold separately. Press tools insure accurate alignment while pressing smaller shafts and eliminate torque problems inherit in pressing with a screw-based gear puller. Each set consists of a short, hardened steel pin mounted in a mandrel press for loosening gears, and a hardened steel pin fitted in a mandrel press to “break” the shaft free of the gear. The mandrel includes a “stabilizer” bar to reduce rotational force when pressing, for consistent alignment and less chance of damage. The tools can also help in the accurate assembly of short, small shafts with gears and wheels.
